Play, exercise, take a class, hang out with friends all for the "over sixty" crowd. Check us out!

This is a community center for adults that started as only a senior nutrition site. We are not just that any more! Our Center is a great place to meet friends, take a computer class in our well-equipped computer lab, take one of three types of exercise classes, sing, hear a guest speaker, be a guest speaker, play Wii, dance, and much more. We offer daily activities, a meal at 12 noon each day, health and wellness education, connection with social service assistance, and referral services.  A much needed service in the community is met by our transportation for seniors and those with disabilities.

We offer transportation for medical appointments, physical therapy, and dental/vision appointments to seniors and individuals with disabilities who live within a five mile radius of the City of St. Albans. We operate three vehicles, each accessible with a hydraulic lift or manual ramp. Appointments may be made in the South Charleston, Charleston, Kanawha City, or Teays Valley areas of the Kanawha Valley. For this transport, we ask that you schedule with us as soon as possible. The calendar fills fast! Appointments must be scheduled no earlier than 8 am and no later than 2 pm. A caregiver or companion may ride with you to your scheduled appointment but they are required to stay with you and return on the same bus. Service animals are welcome. Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act requires that “No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”
Any person who believes that he/she has been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory
practice on the basis of race, color or national origin by The Hansford Senior Center
may file a complaint by completing and submitting Title VI Complaint form available on next page.
